2026 Abstract - TAKING THE GUESSWORK OUT OF IRRIGATION: Northwest Tennessee farmer Daniel Arant will talk about his experience in furrow irrigation, incorporating the use of surge valves and tillage practices focusing on a no-till/min-till rotation. He’ll discuss his work with computerized hole selection and cover crops, concluding with his views on utilizing soil moisture sensors to take the guesswork out of irrigation. His speaking partner during his presentation will be Dr. Tyson Raper of the University of Tennessee.
