2025 Abstract - NUTRIENT UPTAKE BY SOYBEAN MATURITY GROUP: The understanding of total nutrient uptake in soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] is the foundation for implementing proper nutrient management practices. The most widely cited data collection for nutrient uptake and partitioning in soybeans took place in the Midwest and collected tissue samples at seven significant growth stages. Therefore, there is an absence of data regarding midsouth soybeans and total nutrient uptake during every growth stage. The objective of this study is to determine the total nutrient uptake at every growth stage across four soybean maturity groups in the midsouth. This study was conducted at the Mississippi State Delta Research and Extension Center on 16-m wide by 10.7-m long experimental plots with four replications. Four maturity groups most commonly planted in the Mississippi Delta were utilized under furrow irrigation. Plants were partitioned into roots, stems and petioles, and leaves beginning at the V4 growth stage and continuing through the R4 growth stage. Beginning at the R4 growth stage, plants were partitioned into leaves, stems and petioles, pod walls, seeds, and roots. All soybean biomass units were analyzed for all macro- and micronutrients. Results including total biomass, total nutrient uptake of all macro and micronutrients, and soybean grain yield will be discussed at length.
