2026 Abstract - RESEARCH UPDATES FOR PHOSPHORUS AND POTASSIUM MANAGEMENT IN FURROW- AND FLOOD-IRRIGATED RICE: Fertilization is one of the single largest input costs for rice production. Changes in crop management practices, such as flood to furrow irrigation, can affect soil nutrient dynamics and rice response to fertilization. Understanding how rice responds to phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) fertilization under different production systems is key to profitable farming. This presentation will discuss P and K management practices for furrow-and flood-irrigated rice, and how fertilizer application timing influences nutrient uptake and crop yield.
