2026 Abstract - AGRICULTURE POLICY OUTLOOK FROM WASHINGTON: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act increased agriculture-focused spending by approximately $65.6 billion over the next decade (fiscal year 2025–fiscal year 2034). $59 billion of that total was directed toward core farm safety net enhancements, such as updates to Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC), Price Loss Coverage (PLC), Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) and crop insurance. The remaining $6.6 billion includes investments in disaster assistance programs, trade promotion, agricultural research, horticulture, energy, and rural infrastructure.
