2026 Abstract - IRRIGATION BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR THE WHOLE FARM: This presentation provides a holistic overview of irrigation management strategies for major Midsouth crops – rice, soybean, corn, cotton, and peanuts. For rice, water management strategies including continuously flooded, furrow-irrigated, alternate wetting and drying, and tailwater reuse will be discussed. Additionally, current recommendations and best management practices for both pivot and furrow irrigation systems will be reviewed and guidance updated based on recent research and field experience. Emphasis is placed on managing multiple crops and irrigation systems simultaneously.
