2024 Abstract - ADVANCED PLANTING TECHNOLOGIES: PROS AND CONS: We will discuss the pros and cons of advanced planting technologies. Research will highlight mechanical vs. precision planting at various planting speeds and their effects on plant stand, plant spacing and yield in corn and soybean. Experience with both flighted and brush belt systems will be addressed, as well as the use of precision planting technologies in cotton.
