2027 Abstract - IMPROVING COTTON PLANTING PRACTICES AND PROFITABILITY IN ALABAMA THROUGH ON-FARM RESEARCH: High input costs and low commodity prices have motivated cotton growers to evaluate their current production practices and find ways to adjust or improve management to improve profitability on their farms. With that goal in mind, several on-farm research trials were conducted in Alabama with cotton growers to evaluate their current planting practices, including seeding rates, row spacing, and seeding configuration (hill-drop versus singulated), and their impact on cotton yield and profitability. Findings from these studies will be shared to show how on-farm research is driving changes in cotton production practices among growers and improving profitability across Alabama farms.
